Understanding that film is art will be the first step in the preparation process. Safety and logistics will always be an essential part of film making. Learning to balance the moment and keeping it safe will be the connective tissue to it all.
Learning how to sell will ease the process of making a commercial. Each frame Is designed to cater focus to the product at hand. If anything distracts the viewer from the product in frame you have not done your job.
Music is such an amazing art form of expression. Do you ever listen to a song and then visualize what the song would look like? It always impresses me when a director writes a treatment and works with the artist to inspire the look of their music.
It comes down to the actors in promotional work. Usually, these shoots fall on weekends or in between show shoot days for cast members. Keeping a smooth schedule will be the essential ingredient to a successful shoot day. Don’t be afraid to communicate how the day is looking and adjust accordingly.
We will take this genre one frame per second. Capturing what a photographer wants for the shot will come down to giving time to figuring it out. The pace of the day will pick up once everyone is on the same page. After that enjoy the positive vibes and grab the shot.
All my life I have experimented with voices. Taking it on professionally has been a new path to navigate. Learning the business of voice over work has helped me understand what clients are looking for. More to come in this arena.
